Milwaukee County Judge Jean Kies issued a temporary restraining order on May 8, 2026, preventing the city from enforcing the new food truck curfew ordinance until at least June 10, 2026. City Hires Independent Investigator to Review Alderperson Dispute

Milwaukee's Department of Employee Relations hired an outside investigator on May 7, 2026, to review a February 11 verbal altercation between Alderperson JoCasta Zamarripa and Alderperson Mark Chambers Jr. at City Hall. Zamarripa filed a formal complaint with DER after withdrawing her complaint with the Ethics Board. Mayor Cavalier Johnson's office stated it would not weigh in on the incident to maintain independence.
